Chupasart Gym Voted Irish Thai Boxing gym of the year 2011
Chupasart Gym was again voted gym of the year, we were 2009 holders of the same award. The   award is decided by the coaches, and not by a public vote of popularity, so its always nice to know what your peers think of you.
It would be foolish of me to pretend all this hard work that goes into the Chupasart gym is all my own, its clearly not, so i would like to thanks a few people for their help throughout the last year.

Firstly Neil Culligan, who runs the gym when I am not about. Neil will always take class with only an hours notice, even though it eats into his busy work load and schedule, never afraid to impose his ideas on me for how a specific lad should be training for a fight, and always ready even at a seconds notice to makes fun of me or anyone else in ear shot.

Faisul Naqui - IT guru and all round ladies man... ahem. Thanks Fai for pimping my gym and website and making everything run so smoothly with admin and all that stuff. Fai never says no to anything and never looks for anything in return. A very good friend to me and the gym, very quiet during training and never one to mess... ever :)

Donal Mahony - Carlsberg dont do corner men but if they did it would be this man, very unassuming lad and only speaks in the corner when he has to, a great lad to pick up on things during a fight that I might not have seen and always know what he should be doing and exactly at what time. Donal recently had a baby boy he called him Padd..... oh sorry no he called him Dan :)

The 2 70kg lovers - Paul Norton and Gary Ormond. Two of my closest friends and 2 of the hardest working fighters I ever seen. The thing I like about both of them is that they will never hold back on what they thing. In March 2011 Gary told me the gym had gone to shit and I better get it back on track or he was leaving, not many fighters would say that to the gaffer. Paul "baby bear" Norton has also told me whats wrong in the gym and how to get it sorted and get it sorted soon or he was off. Its lads like these that make the gym better, thanks to you pair the gym will only improve. Congrats also to Gary voted "male fighter of the year 2011".

Thanks also to the people behind the scenes, Danny Brennan acupuncture and massage guru, Shannen Caffery cleaning guru and pain in the hole, Lucy Godwin marketing guru and Mark Tully of Tully Management for minding my fighters. Thanks also to the lads and ladies that just train in Chupasart gym, without you there would be no money to pay for the lads trips away to fight in ireland and abroad. Thanks to all the lads that represented Chupasart over 2011, win loose or draw you all made me very proud, and also thanks to anyone that I may have forgotten

Chupasart gym is open to anyone, any clubs looking to add in a bit of proper Muay Thai training, get in touch and we can loan you one of our coaches.
